Classic Tuna Casserole
This classic tuna casserole is a quick dinner recipe that takes about 15-20 minutes from start to finish. It’s a twist on the classic ritz cracker using potato chips but you can use Ritz crackers.
Ingredients for Class Tuna Casserole

We have created a shopping list allowing you to quickly add the ingredients to your Walmart shopping list. If you want Walmart to deliver try the Walmart Plus.
- 1 (12 ounce) package egg noodles
- 2 (10.5 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup (You can use Cream of Chicken)
- 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
- 2 (5 ounce) cans tuna, drained (I prefer tunna packed in Water)
- 1 cup frozen green peas
- ½ (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
- ¼ cup chopped onion
- 1 cup crushed potato chips
Directions to Make Casserole

- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook until tender but still slightly firm, about 7–9 minutes, then drain well. While the noodles are cooking, preheat your oven to 425°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the noodles, condensed soup, 1 cup of cheese, tuna, peas, mushrooms, and onion. Stir until everything is evenly mixed and well coated.
- Place your mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheese over the mixture, then finish by topping it with crushed potato chips.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges turn lightly golden. Serve your Classic tuna casserole hot with a nice salad or other veggies.
Substitutions

- You can replace your potato chips with Ritz Crackers
- Substitute your Cream of Mushroom soup with your favorite soup. Cream of chicken and Cream of potato are so good with it.
- You can substitute another cheese that melts well if you don’t love Cheddar cheese
